Era Extraña, Neon Indian

  • by

It’s been two weeks since the release of Era Extraña, the sophomore release by Mexican-born, Texas-raised musician/producer/all around awesome guy Alan Palomo, also known as Neon Indian, and I still can’t stop listening to it. This album is the follow-up to the highly acclaimed Psychic Chasms (2009), which was praised by critics and earned an 8.6 out of 10 rating on the increasingly difficult-to-please Pitchfork. Rather than just replicating the previous album’s sound, Era Extraña goes beyond and adds depth and dimensionality to songs while building on Palomo’s trademark synth-pop vibe. It’s definitely worth a listen. Check out the video for the new single “Polish Girl” (and not just because I’m Polish) HERE.

He is performing at the Belly Up Tavern in San Diego TONIGHT and the Troubadour in Hollywood on September 30th, so take a break from studying and check him out!
