Sunday Girl is making waves supporting Ellie Goulding on her UK tour. Following in the footsteps of artists such as La Roux and Little Boots, who were the forefront of the female electronic wave that swept Britain two years ago, Sunday Girl looks set to be a name for the future. With tracks such as ‘Self Control,’ Sunday Girl brings a dark and minimalistic edge to her music and this has the potenital to be a huge hit if released (listen to it on her myspace http://www.myspace.com/wearesundaygirl). Dubstep DJ Rusko has also taken notice of Sunday Girl and released a remix of ‘Hey Stop.’ The original version is very radio friendly and commercial. It is is ideal to be her first release to break through to the mainstream but it is nothing that will be remembered in the long run. However, the remix has turned it into a track that should have some impact. In the same way Skream remixed ‘In For The Kill’ and launched La Roux onto the British public, Rusko may get Sunday Girl the attention that her potential deserves.
